After completing this programme, participants will be able to:

  • Prepare and maintain work area-preparing the equipment, products and work area ahead of service delivery to ensure the efficiently and effectiveness of conducting treatments considering the standards of operation of the salon.
  • Perform skin care services- Improving facial skin condition using exfoliation, skin warming, come done extraction, facial massage, mask treatments and moisturizing.
  • Perform depilation services consulting, preparing, planning and performing the treatment of various waxing techniques to remove hair in the areas of face, legs, underarm, and bikini line and provide after care advise.
  • Perform manicure and pedicure services carry out manicure and pedicure services to improve the appearance of the nails and skin,
  • Perform makeup services provide make-up for a variety of occasions, including day, evening and special occasions.
  • Operate and apply electrical/electronic equipment for facial beauty services safely and effectively operate & carry out facial beauty services using different techniques like ultrasonic, hi frequency.
  • Perform salon reception duties effectively handle the front desk duties & handle customers professionally
  • Maintain health and safety of work area maintains a safe and hygienic environment at the work area to reduce potential risks to self and others.
  • Create a positive impression at work area personal grooming and behavior to execute tasks as per the salon’s standards and create a positive impression at the workplace.

  1. Makeup Artist:
    As a makeup artist, it is important to give clients a beautiful look as per the occasion. Post the beauty course, one can either join as a makeup artist in a beautyservice sector or can become a celebrity make-up artist. You can also work as a freelance makeup artist and offer independent services to your clients.
  2. Nail Technician:
    As there is a growing popularity of nail art and nail extension, the need for trained nail technicians has expanded. This opens a wide door for nail art lovers to make a career as a nail technician by getting a formal knowledge in it. As a nail technician, you will get a chance to create beautiful nail arts and to give nail extension services to your customers.
  3. Cosmetologist:
    Cosmetologists or beauty therapists is a career that offers expert services of facial, chemical peels, massages, manicures, pedicures, waxing, etc. which helps in grooming an individual. This field is comparatively growing at a fast pace as many women are finding this beneficial. In order to achieve this career, it is mandatory to educate and receive training and work under the guidance of an expert before starting handling customers single-handedly.
  4. Laser Hair Removal Technician:
    Most men and women are now opting for permanent hair removal that gives them relief from the monthly nuisance of waxing. This painless laser hair removal technique is not only used for a beauty treatment but is also helpful for people with excess hair growth disorder. The laser hair removal technique can be learnt from a beauty course.
  5. Hair Stylist and expert:

Being a hair expert, you will be able to provide that new look to the customers using different hai techniques. The work can be pursued in beauty salons or by starting your own salon after developing the skills for it.

    This is the perfect career option for someone with passion for writing with an interest in the beauty industry. Beauty writers and influencers write about the latest beauty trends, tips and review beauty products and services using social media, blogs or videos, which is also a very profitable profession. Especially for ladies who cannot work full time in the salon due to unavoidable situations, they can opt for this and write whenever they get the time and earn out of it.
  7. Esthetician
    An esthetician cleanses and beautifies the skin by giving facials, full-body treatments, and head and neck massages, as well makeup application. They also may remove hair through waxing or, if properly trained, with laser treatments.
  8. Massage Therapist
    A massage therapist uses touch to manipulate the soft-tissue muscles of the body. Massages may be required for a variety of reasons, including treating painful ailments, decompressing tired and overworked muscles, reducing stress, rehabilitating sports injuries, and promoting general health.

MODULE 9: HEALTH ANDSAFETY

  • Identify contra-indications related to beauty treatments
  • Understand process and products to sterilize and disinfect equipment/ tools
  • Follow manufacturer’s instructions related to equipmentand product use and cleaning
  • Understand handling, usage and storage of products, tools and equipment safely
